You Will Die.
And so will everyone you know and love.
I promise I’m not trying to sound morbid.
Here’s where I’m going …
I once heard Gary Vee say this so matter of factly to someone asking him his advice on moving a project forward that they were lacking motivation on.
That’s all he said to the guy.
Those three words.
You will die.
It got all quiet and it was this sort of surreal moment because even though it felt raw and cold … it was the stone cold truth.
And I loved it.
Life is short.
Yes, you know this.
So … why then do most of us take it for granted?
We over-react about stuff we can’t control. We stress. We fight. We gossip. We worry. We put up with nasty people. We waste time.
Day in and day out.
You know this is wrong, yet you can’t stop the patterns.
I wonder, will we wake up at 70 and wonder what the hell we did with all our days?
I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately.
This idea of time passing. And that eventually everyone I know and love will be gone.
And thinking about it has made me think different about my days.
I bet you can rattle through your own list.
Thing after thing after thing … that you can’t control … that you take for granted … that will be gone one day.
The best motivation in the whole world … to get a better attitude, smile more and relax … is this one idea that YOU WILL DIE.
So … you want my #1 productivity hack?
My #1 tip to help you stay motivated.
