“Whatever you can do or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.” Start before your ready!” – Goethe / Steven Pressfield
Steven Pressfield’s book “Do The Work” changed my life.
- It’s Invisible – You cannot touch, taste or smell resistance. It’s a negative repelling force aimed to shove us away, distract us and prevent us from doing our work.
- It’s Insidious – It will assume any form, if that’s what it takes to deceive you. It will jam a nine-millimeter in your face like a stick up man. Resistance is always lying and full of shit.
- It’s Impersonal – It doesn’t know, or care, who you are. It acts objectively.
- It’s Infallible – Resistance will always point True North. It will always try to disrupt that calling or action it most wants to stop us from doing. Use this as a compass. If the resistance is there, you are on the right track.
- It’s Universal – You are not alone. Everyone with a body experiences resistance.
- It Never Sleeps – Henry Fonda threw up before each stage performance. He was 75. Fear doesn’t go away. We must fight a new battle every day.
- It Plays For Keeps – It’s goal isn’t to wound or disable. Resistance aimed to kill. To stop you. When we fight it we are in a war to the death.
